Branched Chain Amino Acids
Mar 24, 2008
If you don’t know much about them, BCAA’s are made up of Leucine, isoleucine and valine. They are three specialized amino acids that are most commonly known as BCAA’s! Studies show that BCAA’s are burned for fuel and may support testosterone levels when taken before heavy lifting or any type of exercise. Exercise burns muscle tissue, and protecting your muscle positively affects levels of testosterone. Testosterone is the hormone that has a major role in muscle maintenance, growth and development. Leucine is at the head of its class, it appears to be the best out of the three. Muscle use it as fuel, exerting an anticatabolic effect, it also positively increases the level of insulin, the hormone that can bring muscle breakdown to a rapid halt and starts protein synthesis.
