Women - Be consistent!
Sep 25, 2008
When it comes to dropping some extra pounds, most women dive head first into workouts and diets. Most start out with short bouts of exercise, working specific muscle groups individually. Then gradually many women reprise their routines to an all in one session. That is why, typically, people most often see the best results at the very beginning, after they started working out consistently. In the long run though, both types of routines have their benefits. Most overweight women who dieted and exercised for 18-24 months with multiple short workouts of 10-30 minutes lost about the same amount of weight as women who regularly worked out for 35-60 minutes. (An average of about 8-15 pounds.) Women now realize that adding extra cardio into their workout plans was an added bonus that would help shed those excess pounds too! Whether doing long or short sessions, you will drop some weight, as long as you incorporate a well balanced diet and supplements with your workout routine. Beginners should always work their way up, introducing their body to new physical activity and then maintaining that level for a short while before working their way up the physical spectrum.
When I first started working out, I was doing cardio two or three times a week and working individual body parts on the off cardio days. A trainer friend of mine told me to get my cardio in every day AND work a couple of body parts at a time through some different types of weight training. What a difference it made. At first I was frustrated by my lack of results but now, since I do my cardio every day and do exercises that work more than one muscle group at a time, I am seeing some amazing results.
I also started a supplement regimen including a multivitamin called Womens Fitness Pak, the entire Leptitrim program, and Flex complex by immune tree.
